“I stayed here for almost 3 months because I'm studying in the university of Pinar del Río. Since day one, Mayra and Tebelio were super helpfull and generous. It felt like a home for me. Every question or doubt, they always were available to help. And the breakfast is the best! Like you can see in the photos, you have a nice big and private space with an amazing view. I'm really going to miss this place and the family! Already booked my next stay here, so highly (!) Recommended. Tebelio, Mayra and Tebelín, thank you very much for making our stay in Pinar so enjoyable. You are a super wonderful family and have helped us so much with everything. Thanks to you, it seemed that I had a house and a family here in Cuba. It is not a farewell until soon. ; ') Many greetings, Masha and Jonas”

“STAY HERE. It's that simple. An amazing experience from every single angle. Currently, there is only one place to stay in AirBnb near downtown San Luis.. and this is it. From minute one when I arrived to the last wave and shout of "thank you for everything Roly!" from the taxi driving off from San Luis, it was a beautiful experience. I'm a photographer and was focused on family tobacco farm life in Cuba's Pinar del Rio province, and Roly and his wonderfully warm inner circle welcomed me as a one of their own. We rode bicycles many times to and from the farm, with many a stop to greet and speak with the many friends that Roly and his wife have in town. That alone should speak volumes about the good nature and great reputation of this house. Wonderful food guided by your preferences, air-conditioning in the room (pleasant surprise!), fans, beds and an overlook from the bathroom window of the city, complete with many family roofs with colorful laundry strung out to dry for the day. If you've ever traveled in Cuba, you're going to have to scoop your jaw off the floor once you see the offerings in the fridge - whoa. Oh, rooftop chairs over the street to soak in beautiful sunsets and watch the neighborhood soccer games across the street. Amazing and amazing. We shared many conversations at all times of the day, meals, sports games and state generated soap operas on TV, and many, many hours at the family farm. I was traveling alone, and Roly was hugely helpful and open with information about the area, Cuban people, and vast first-hand knowledge of the tobacco industry. Roly introduced me to everyone, where I had the pleasure to meet his parents (still working hard at the farm), his kind brother and son, and the other farmers and women working in the drying house. All with kind hearts and humor. Even the chickens and dogs and oxen seemed to be smiling. Towards the end of the week, we took the long way to bike to the Robaina farm, where Roly knew the people, and we had the chance to speak with Hirochi, the grandson of famed Alejandro. Ask Roly to tell you the funny story of me talking with Hirochi, and he'll tell you what's up and hopefully show you some photos. San Luis is what city people's dreams are made of around the world. There seems to be more horse carts and horse riders than cars. Everyone dresses themselves and their homes in bright lovely loud colors, and residents are ready to talk with you and ask you about your travels and homelife. Possibly because this city is so far widely undiscovered by the world's jetsetters... I was there for a week, and was the only traveling outsider in the town. Compare that to Viñales! Groups of people sitting after a day of work, huddled around a chess match on the veranda's of main street,...”
