Our home is located right in the center of beautiful Tlacolula, Oaxaca. During your stay you can visit many tourist locations such as the Farmers Market where you can purchase organic foods/clothing (3 min away)! You can sight see our Mitla/MonteAlban ruins where you can enjoy the archaeological sights and take pictures (25-45 min away)! Enjoy Matatlan famous for its Mezcal (45 minutes away!) Visit the 2000 yr old Tule tree (30 min away)! Visit Teotitlan and see our textiles (15 min away)!

Country House with Guided Hiking Included

Experience authentic local life in our village, renowned for its prehistoric caves, pre-Hispanic tombs, agave plantations, & stunning rock formations. Each day of your stay includes a 3-hour guided hike, with multiple routes to choose from. I’m also happy to provide recommendations for activities you can explore on your own like visiting natural pools, mezcal tasting, shopping for traditional textiles, and savoring local cuisine. It’s the perfect base for exploring Hierve el Agua & Mitla.

Villa Rey—Traditional Hacienda Home Near Oaxaca

Our house is a traditional hacienda-type house. The guest bedrooms have their only entries through the outside patio. The private heated pool awaits for a relaxing swim after a full day exploring ruins or touring the nearby pueblos! Lachigolo is a small and peaceful pueblo, about a 15-minute drive from Oaxaca along the Pan American Highway, and around 5 minutes past El Tule. The location makes it a good base for day trips to places like Hierve al Agua, Teotitlan, and Mitla.

On a 2000 meter plot of land we have built two studios with everything you need to spend a couple of wonderful days. Ideal for families and friends, 4 people can comfortably fit in two independent studios, each one with a kitchenette and a beautiful bathroom open to the gardens. We have a wood-burning sauna! In order to occupy it, it is necessary to coordinate in advance. And without a doubt our favorite, the outdoor stone tub, a delight for all senses.
