“This place is small indoors, but perfectly and artistically equipped and designed. There's a lovely balcony from which to enjoy the view, which is gorgeous and expansive ~ from one side to the other of Wellington's enormous harbour to the other, plus mountains, sailboats, cruise ships.... A lovely place to relax and enjoy the sunset, or the sunrise. We hope to be back some day.”
Welcome to your own private studio, just minutes from the airport. Our 1940's family home is above but your accomodation is seperate. We are on the bus route taking you to and from the city, although there is parking available on the street. Walking distance to Gipsy kitchen (famous for fine coffee and delicious food in these parts) and Seatoun beaches. Minutes from Weta, Roxy Cinema, restaurants, cafes and a supermarket. There is a flat screen TV, with Apple TV, and free wifi.
“Good place to stay in Wellington. The living room was nice and spacious with a small kitchenette including utensils, microwave and kettle. Coffee, cereal and a little milk was provided to get a head start for a proper breakfast, great! As other reviewers stated the bathroom is small and looks like it has been build in the 70s, but ok for us. Parking on the street was not an issue. The bus to downtown Wellington leaves every 10 minutes right in front of the property. Be aware that it takes about 45 minutes to get to downtown and the cash fare is $5 per adult one way so we decided to go by car on our 2nd day. We parked at Clifton car park. They have a maximum daily charge of $18 ($6 on weekends) and is just a 10-15 minute walk to the downtown area. Nice place, recommended! (-:”
261 Karaka Bay, Wellington...This unique seaside location is 5 mins from the Airport & Weta Cave and 20mins to the city. Situated close to the film industry you can take a stroll passed Peter Jackson’s house to Scorch o rama cafe for a coffee or walk over the hill to Weta Cave (a 20min walk) . Tony has worked at Weta & on movies such as The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, Avatar and others. He loves to chat and will happily tell you more....
“This was our 2nd visit to Nicola’s place. We loved it last time and we appreciated that she would let our little dog stay with us again this time. Across the road from a (rocky) beach, and not far from a very popular beachfront cafe. This place is clean and tidy and everything you need is provided. Definitely a great destination!”
