Cottage vacation rentals in Shenandoah County

We loved our stay at this lovely, welcoming home. Everything we needed was there and we loved using the air fryer (a first for us) to see if we really wanted to purchase one. The home is welcoming and peaceful, with everything inside easy to find. We enjoyed coffee while warming by the wood burning stove and our time in the hot tub just a short walk from the door. There was a large supply of seasoned firewood, kindling and fire starters. We enjoyed rooting for the Eagles on Super Bowl Sunday while watching the game on the large screen tv. The host makes check in super easy and check out stress free. We would love to come back in warmer weather.

The place was extremely nice, the view was beautiful along the river, and the isolated location was nice for the solitude and quiet my husband and I weee looking to find.

stayed for a week with my dogs and had a restful vacation! loved the fenced yard for the pups and close to the national park and Shenandoah River State Park which was great for hiking! small cozy cottage was perfect size. I also appreciated that the entire property was fenced in - added a feeling of security as a solo traveler

Absolutely fantastic! Highly recommend. It was perfect for a solo trip away. The town of Loray was lovely (check out the outdoor store in town) and the food was fantastic. I will stay here again for sure!

We really enjoyed our stay. The house was lovely and matches the description. Our group of 10 fit comfortably and felt right at home. Courtney and Scott are great hosts and very responsive. Would recommend to others!

Sara was always responsive to our queries and the place was clean and homey. The lit-up Christmas tree was a pleasant surprise. The kids felt right at home in the game rooms and the adults found everything they needed. Instructions were clear. It was a perfect home away from home for our family. Sara is a super awesome host!

Bret is an incredible host. He was exceptionally responsive and also proactive in reaching out. For a place so remote it couldn’t have been easier to find based upon his very clear directions. The place is exactly what I was seeking and met the description and photos. It was very Clean. Had absolutely everything we needed to cook all our meals and was so private. And it is so comfortable and we felt right at home. It was just perfect for me and my three kids to have a few days away from the city. And because Bret was so great, the whole process and stay was seamless. Thank you Bret!!

We had a great time! My two kids loved the upstairs play area. The home is beautiful and was perfect for our family. We had some trouble navigating the TVs (remote did not seem to work for main bedroom and we couldn't get the living room TV to stream), but Kinga was super responsive to any questions. We enjoyed nearby Woodstock Cafe for breakfast and exploring GW National Park. The location and setting was perfect for our short getaway and we hope to come back next year.

This place is awesome! A perfect quiet stay and chance to get away for a weekend. Lots of good hikes in the area as well - but most importantly, just relaxing!

What a great cozy place this was. I wanted to get away from the outside world and this place helped me do that. The views are amazing (day and night). I would definitely come back. Plenty to do around the area . Valeries instructions and labels around the house were super helpful.

Donna was an incredibly friendly and kind host! From the moment we arrived until right before we left she checked in on us and made sure we had everything we needed to have an enjoyable weekend at the cottage. It was so charming and had incredible views of the mountain! The surrounding towns were super cute as well and there was plenty to do there! We loved it and would definitely recommend it to others and stay there again. Thank you, for everything, Donna!

This is an excellent cottage with great value, great also for a solo traveler event though it's billed as romantic. I liked that the stairs were wide and very safe leading to the loft bed. The views are great and the interior is modern. This proves key for a no fuss experience. I wish I stayed more nights and for sure would come back when the weather is warmer.

Taby's place is in a beautiful, peaceful setting. It is a great location to explore the Shenandoah Valley. Taby greeted us upon arrival, provided great recommendations about the local attractions, and was very responsive when we had questions. The place was a nice, ground-level studio with a comfortable bed, nice kitchen space and comfortable sitting area. We recommend Taby's place!

The cottage was perfect for our girls’ weekend! Nestled in a peaceful setting with the sound of the creek bubbling by, the cabin had everything we needed or could want! There were bottles of water and snacks by the personalized welcome sign when we arrived. The fire place was so delightful to remove the chill in the evening air. The beds were amazingly comfortable and we each got great nights’ sleep. We had fun games inside and out available to us as well as a great fire pit. We can’t wait to go back!!!

This house, which I have stayed at 5 different times, is my-go-to for when I am planning to do hikes at Lost River State Park as it is a 10m drive to the park and only about 5 minute drives to places where I can get food. The home is nice and clean and has a nice deck where I can sit out and drink my noon coffee. And the host is great- accommodated my requests and responded to my questions in a very speedy fashion.

We were looking for a place to peacefully relax with our pups. This was perfect! The yard having been fenced in was an added bonus. We have 2 dogs that are walked on leashes. It was so nice to just open a door, let them play, smell the smells, and enjoy the quiet countryside. They loved watching the cows. The cottage was clean, quaint, and comfortable. The snowfall was beautiful to watch this particular weekend. Matt and Kelly were quick to respond when we had questions about the roads being drivable after about 4 inches of snow. They also let us take our time checking out due to the weather. Absolutely wonderful time. We hope to visit in the fall or spring. Highly recommend this cottage and it’s gracious hosts.

We were in Luray for an auction and always prefer staying at AirBNBs. The house was perfect for a quick weekend getaway...we even stayed in one night and cooked. We had everything we needed to feel at home.
