“We had a great stay at Jeannie’s place! The views were amazing, and if you enjoy watching cows and chickens as much as we do, this is the place to stay. The map on the wall with hometowns of the guests pinned, was such a neat touch. This space had everything we needed and the hosts were very friendly and willing to answer any questions we had. We would definitely stay here again!”
Enjoy Happy Valley in all seasons! Located in a quiet neighborhood with easy access to both town and the outdoors, our home is full of bright cottage charm. With a full yard, large back deck, and gig speed internet, it is perfect for families. There is a bike path and several parks within a 5 minute drive. THIS IS A NO SMOKING PROPERTY. State College might be known as a party town, but our home is NOT a party house. We are strict about this rule. Downtown and PSU are a 10 min drive.
“Beautiful, beautiful, BEAUTIFUL! My boyfriend and I could not have picked a better place to stay! Super cozy and stylish, sustainable amenities, and cute touches around the house. Heat/cooling adjusts pretty quickly, but there are also plenty of extra blankets/throws (my favorite!). Very safe neighborhood. Great places to eat, although we opted to buy groceries nearby and cook meals inside for a comfy night in. Last but not least, this home was so easy to nestle on in. Woke up one morning and, my, the pictures don’t do this place justice! Sun streaming through Bright and Cheery is absolute bliss, with a big, beautiful backyard as your view. Loved every minute of this stay. We both woke up and didn’t want to leave. Back to our busy life reality, but will fondly remember our relaxing getaway at Bright and Cheery. Can’t thank you enough, Kate and Liam!! :-)”

“We loved Whipple Retreat! There was plenty of space for our extended family of sixteen (ten adults and six kids ages six and under). The large backyard was a big plus, and the decks were a great place to watch the kids play on the swings and slide. The space was clean and well furnished, and the extra tables and chairs in the garage allowed all sixteen of us to eat dinner together in the large dining room. It was a very short drive to state parks and nature centers for hiking and swimming. We're already thinking of coming back to Whipple Retreat next summer. Martha was a very responsive host, and very accommodating.”
