“Lisa’s place is a little treasure. Packed into one room is a comfortable sleeping place, a fully functioning kitchen and a seating area where you can watch the sea and the hills beyond. It is very clean and very comfortable. Lisa is an excellent host and responds very quickly if there are any questions. We could not ask for more.”
3 Whitehouse Lane is a quirky fisherman's cottage situated in the heart of picturesque Stromness. This thoughtfully handcrafted house features some very unique fixtures and fittings adding great interest to your stay and the fishing heritage of Stromness is a key feature. This cottage is in walking distance of all local amenities but situated in a quiet part of the town with private parking.
“Staying here is experience in its own right. The attention to detail in the design is extraordinary, it's like stepping into a museum/film-set whilst being an incredibly well equipped and practical space. The location is great, just a few minutes walk from the centre of town, very quiet at night but close enough for your fish and chips to still be warm by the time you get back! Stromness itself is a charming place, good amenities for its size and a great setting off point for anything you might want to see on the islands. If you get the chance to book into Fisherman's Cottage I would take it. It's a pretty unique place and staying there was one of the (many) highlights of our trip.”
The cottage is in a quiet rural area 10 minute walk from stromness pier head. There is panoramic views with the island of hoy and the Atlantic to the west and wild country side and farmland in the east. There is also a large mature garden which houses some hens. It is also well situated for walker's as in every direction is a nice walk. Weaverhall is in a beautiful secluded area but all local amenities are easily accessible.
“We had a great time at this cottage. There are gorgeous views over the sea, and lovely walks nearby. The cottage had everything we needed for a self catering trip and was really cosy with lots of nice touches! Ingrid and Neil were very helpful and so accommodating. Excellent hosts and we would definitely stay again (Probably in summer though! 😂)”
