“The guest house at Suzy’s is really cool and has a spectacular view. It has all the appliances and amenities a normal person needs. You’ll be a short drive away from some great beaches and Santa Barbara. You might share the small yard with a couple of friendly, well-behaved dogs so you should ask ahead of time if you’d be uncomfortable with that. This is a great place for a weekend getaway, I would definitely return.”
Freestanding Garden Studio. Two blocks to Summerland Beach and one block to downtown Summerland. Bright and airy and full of charm.
“My friend and I had a lovely stay at Nancy’s cottage studio. Easy check-in with available street parking and the location was super convenient for our day trips into Santa Barbara. It’s definitely a small space, which was not an issue for us as we are smaller people, but may be a bit tight for those who are taller. The lofted bed was very cozy and we had no issues sitting up on the bed without hitting our heads, but it might not be for everyone and it requires a climb up. The kitchen was stocked with all the essentials and the bathroom view of the ocean was so special. It’s a quick walk down to the beach as well as a quick walk to the Summerland Café that offers great breakfast and the Red Kettle coffee shop that serves up a delicious espresso drink. Just be mindful that face masks are required to enter the establishments. We would definitely stay again!”

“Shelly was a very professional and hospitable host. She was very friendly, and extremely responsive and hands on. We did a have an issue, however, with some vandalism by transients on the upper parking lot. A little encampment of sorts is just on the other side of the fence by the upper parking lot by the train line. The upper parking lot is at least 200 feet up a steep paved road from the house. For that reason, I would advise that guests be extremely vigilant and careful with their belongings. For example, don’t leave bicycles out anywhere even if they are locked up. I lost the wheels to a locked up bike. The private gate and the private driveway, and just general sense of remoteness, imply a strong sense of security, but my experience wasn’t exactly that. Obviously not the fault of Shelly or the owners, but just something to be aware of in the future. Overall, we had a great time. The beach is great, and the house is very cool and well designed. 70s retro chic. From the deck, we saw seals and dolphins. I would definitely like to return again.”
