Vacation rentals with a sauna in Sveitarfélagið Ölfus

This is the perfect location in Reykjavik’s West side. Central to everything in that neighborhood yet peaceful. Linda is a great host and responded to all my inquiries right away. Really loved the place. Perfect for one person and enjoyed the guitar and piano. Would stay here again.

Staying at NORR Apartment was absolutely outstanding. The apartment is located in the charming area of the old harbor in Reykjavik, so we could enjoy a quiet atmosphere and a beautiful view every day. The location was also ideal for whale watching tours – the harbor from which the cruises departed was literally a few steps from the apartment. The interior of the apartment delights from the first sight – modern but cozy, decorated with a great sense of style and attention to detail, was perfectly developed – the living room was conducive to relaxation after a day of sightseeing, and the private sauna was a wonderful addition, especially after colder Icelandic evenings. The bedroom with the king size bed was very comfortable and the spacious balcony is a great spot for morning coffee. Had a quick 2 night stay and this was a perfect location. Minutes from the airport, restaurants and grocery. House had thoughtful items that made the trip easier (lots of charging converters, gaming for the kids, etc). Great stay.

Folks should quit complaining about the smell of the water. Get over it, that is the natural smell of the minerals in the water. The spa was marvelous and gorgeous. Reminded me of Gaudy.

This is the perfect place to stay. Beautiful views, quiet setting - just what we were looking for after long days of hiking.

Fantastic house in a wonderful area. House was well stocked, clean and beautifully designed. The location was remote enough to see the Northern Lights but only 20 mins from the village. Will definitely be returning!

We stayed at Anita's place for a night, and it was a lovely stay. She was responsive when we needed her help finding the place. The cabin is clean and beautiful, towels and toiletries were available as described, and there were some sporadic kitchen ingredients (I recommend bringing your own salt, oil, etc) It's situated a bit further off the town, so there was no light pollution at all. The surroundings are also beautiful and quaint, with some horses on the farm next door. Anita also has several cute, fluffy dogs that are very friendly. Furthermore, Anita actually let us know that there were northern lights just outside the cabin when we were busy preparing dinner (would have definitely missed that otherwise). When we had left, she told us promptly that we probably had missed a bag, which we did, so we managed to come back and pick it up before we drove too far. I totally recommend Anita and her cabins. If we come to Iceland again, we are thinking of coming back to stay here.

Burma’s beautiful home is ideal for anyone who wants two bathrooms (hard to find in Iceland) and plenty of space. It’s in a quaint small town very close to the Golden Circle and not far from Selfoss, which has more substantial amenities. Easy drive to Gullfoss and Geysir, and a small grocery is within walking distance of the house. The views from the sunroom are beautiful. The kitchen is modern, functional, and spacious. The outdoor area, including the hot tub, is wonderful in the evening. The nearby restaurants, including those in Reykholt, are wonderful! We highly recommend this place for people who want extra space and don’t want to stay in the busy capital city. We’d stay here again in a heartbeat!

This place is great! Very cozy and close to the golden circle and Selfoss, which has great restaurants! We especially enjoyed the cozy vibe of the interior furniture and kitchen. We also really enjoyed the hot tub and cold plunge combo. Magnús was really responsive when we had questions, and even got on the phone to walk us through how to fill the hot tub and turn off the lights so we could better view the aurora!

Wonderful experience! Easy check in and out. Very friendly host. Beautiful and cozy property. Close to many activities and city center.

Our stay at Larus’ accommodation was magical. Such a beautiful and restful setting, we felt relaxed instantaneously. The space was spotless with everything considered. The hot tubs and sauna were wonderful luxuries with the verandas thoughtfully sheltered from the breeze and the kayak’s in the lake which our boys enjoyed. The communication from start to when we left was proactive and clear with Kamil kindly meeting us at the cottages to guide us to the house and show us around. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return soon.

We chose this home because it was affordable and minutes from family that we were visiting for the first time. We were concerned it was too good to be true; however, it exceeded our expectations! The views from the driveway were stunning, mountains and Northern lights. We were traveling with 5 adults and 3 children. Had plenty of space and the kids enjoyed the toys!!! Enjoyed the walking trails and playground close to the home.
