Vacation rentals with lake access in Tasmania

We had a wonderful break at The Lake Retreat. This home was beautifully appointed, spotlessly clean & so very peaceful. The kitchen had everything you could wish for & would be suitable for large groups. We appreciated the comfy beds, quality linen, towels & bath products that were provided for our stay. There were many extra touches to make you feel welcome & at home. Peter was always friendly & fantastic with all communications. I would highly recommend this beautiful home to anyone wishing to get away from it all in this area of Tasmania. Thank you for having us, we would love to return some day 🙂

Fred's house (hosted by Steve) is an amazing place to stay! this is our 5th time staying and second Christmas in this beautiful cosy family and dog friendly house. I love the different living spaces, the well stocked kitchen, the lovely outside deck and bbq on sunny afternoons. Steve is an excellent host who is always friendly, welcoming and really quick to respond. Thanks again I am sure we will be back.

Kate's place was a fabulous place to stay with my doggo. One of the most generously well-equipped kitchen's I've experienced, super comfortable beds, warm and homely and a stunning view across the lake! Kate is a wonderfully warm and kind host, easy and responsive communication. I highly recommend Kate's place and will definitely stay again.

We had a wonderful stay.. the home was clean with spectacular views. Fishing was great, plenty of flat head. Minor annoying things were flat batteries in the torch and remote controller for DVD player but these things happen. The hosts were very friendly to speak with over messages and we really did have an amazing stay. Would definitely return in the future. A big thank you to the hosts.

The best air bnb ive ever stayed at, in the most perfect location. The hosts kept the place stocked with essentials. Would recommend this place if you are looking for a place surrounded by nature and close by to Corinna and Cradle mountain.

Everything was great! We've enjoyed the location and the fireplace a lot, it's very cozy. The place was clean and tidy. There is no wifi, but there's some cell phone coverage both with Vodaphone and Optus with 4G

Cute cottage with some great amenities for mountainbikers like the wash down area, large secure lock up bike shed, the shower pressure, two loos, washing facilities and loads of great coffee! We had 8 people and some mattresses on the floor which wasn't entirely suitable so a smaller group would be better. But Georgia was such a great host, very responsive and cleared up early check in and out for us which helped our travel plan time HUGELY so thanks for that! A really enjoyable stay.

Sandra is a excellent host, gives you clear instructions before you arrive, advises to pick grocery on our way from the nearest town, as there are next to no shops in the surroundings. Sandra ensures that she has placed the basics in at the property.

We really enjoyed our stay at Anna’s place. Penguin is a beautiful coastal town with friendly locals and lots of great amenities. The house is in a great location right on a park and we loved feeding the ducks there. We hope to come back one day.

Great location, restaurant/cafes & general store just over the road and pub was an easy 15 minute walk along the waterfront. Clean and comfortable accommodation. Would highly recommend.

We have stayed in many Airbnb properties in multiple countries, but Terry and Vanessa’s place is certainly on top. Not only was the Lark Suite exactly as described and photographed, but it had those extra touches provided by the hosts that make it stand out from the crowd. The kitchen was the most fully stocked of any AirBnb we have ever stayed in. For most people, you would not need to shop for the next day’s breakfast. There was granola, orange juice, milk, a loaf of bread, more than a dozen eggs, bacon, fresh fruit, jam, butter,, and more. And if that was not enough, when you book, Terry asks you if you prefer a red or white Tasmanian wine, which is in the unit on arrival, and also whiskey. And I would be remiss if I did not mention the cookies in the fridge, as well as the locally made chocolate truffles. All in all, it is a great place to stray while exploring all that Hobart has to offer, and the hosts go more than the extra mile to make everything perfect and welcoming.

I loved staying at Little Bird. So arty and creative, so peaceful and relaxing. Lots of options to sit and eat or drink or read and relax. It is a very special place.

A beautiful little hideaway in Oatlands. Beautifully set up with lots of decorative touches that made the place stand out. We appreciated the breakfast and pantry items left for us. Sophie was very responsive and friendly. We would stay here again!

Perfect for our needs. Well equipped beach house within short walk of ocean views. And we could bring our pet dog with us making it all the more special.

As locals we’ve often driven past or through Oatlands but when a gift to visit Callington Mill arrived, we were super keen to stay on Oatlands for a few nights just to enjoy the surrounds. We wanted to find the perfect little place that was peaceful, special, and had that Oatlands feel of the lush restored heritage. Elm Barn has it all! It’s so snug and comfy but also generous, with its pretty private garden, French provincial influence, and Rhonda’s kindness in the provisioning of a great kitchen and bathroom made our stay memorable and fun.

Comfortable and clean accommodation in a serene, rural setting. We really enjoyed our stay.

The Sailor is a yardarm ahead of the Captain - peaceful location- a home with luscious furnishings and well thought of added extras - cosy and warm, especially with the added option of a wood fire - a beautiful water view from the front verandah, sipping on a Tasmanian glass of red - an adjacent carport to park the car - it fulfilled all our needs - Thank you Lee, we have fully appreciated what you have put into the Sailor and the Sea, to make it a Home away from Home

Janmaree got a really lovely boathouse which is situated just next to the pier! The view is amazing and when it comes to the sunset time it becomes absolutely stunning! The location itself is very good for us as we were looking for a place close enough to the Lowhead so that we can get back easily after the penguin tour, and also not too far from the Launceston Airport for our flight in the afternoon the next day. And the gin distillery just opposite to the house is also a gem!

We absolutely loved this stay. There were loads of walks to do on the property, amazing views and wildlife. Phil was super helpful in suggesting daytrips that would suit us as a family, and was happy to answer all our questions. We visited: The Stanley Nut; Trowutta Arch; Philosophers Falls; Big Tree & Dip Falls. We really enjoyed learning about the property and loved the beautiful cottage. Archie aged 10 yrs, liked that it was rustic and the walkes were really good. Eliza aged 5 yrs, liked talking to Phil and patting Jonesy the dog. Cosy evenings by the fire and stunning surroundings - we'll be back! Thank you Phil, Marita and Jonesy for making us feel very welcome 😊
