Lake house vacation rentals in The Berkshires

It was our first experience with Airbnb. We were there to tour the World Headquarters for Jehovah’s Witnesses and this proved to be our evening haven. The house was well stocked as others had commented. We enjoyed relaxing and spent much time in living room with the beautiful view. It was perfect for our stay. Our thanks to our Host.

A beautiful home and the views were breathtaking on the lake. Although, it was frozen. All the amenities we needed and more. Close to skiing and tubing. Owner Sara was very attentive to respond quickly. We just wanted a getaway place for a family weekend. The road was narrow and very icy. Would go back but not in the winter. Summer and the Fall I think would be best. Lots more things to do in the nicer weather months. Thank you Sara for your hospitality.

10/10, best rental! The house felt like a hotel - it was immaculately clean with beautiful decor and in an ideal location. They put a lot of thought into it, there were so many little things we weren't expecting from an Airbnb that made this one top notch. We appreciated the fluffy clean towels and toiletries they provided. They had a whole section of baby items stored neatly in the garage and we used the baby monitor to keep an eye on the kiddos during the night. We really enjoyed the kayaks with life jackets in adult and kid sizes. They even thought to provide things like waterproof cell phone cases to take on the kayaks! They also had a small cooler, tons of beach chairs and lawn games. The location of the house is great, there's a little beach around the corner and 1 min drive into a part of town with some nice restaurants. We took a recommendation from the house's Insta-page and went on an easy hike on the boardwalk section of the Appalachian trail! It was a great time!

What a great house for a family. Game garage was a huge hit for my 4 boys. Hot tub, canoe on a beautiful pond, this was a great stay.

We wanted a place to gather with our adult children and 2 very young grandchildren. The layout provided sleep and bathroom space for each family that gave privacy. The open concept living-kitchen space helped us feel like we were together and sharing in the cooking and child care. Even in winter the lake view is peaceful and lovely. Cozy, well equipped, and the lake vibe made this a wonderful family get away. So glad we chose the lake house for our Holiday get together.

This was my first time visiting Lake George and Mikes place was the perfect spot to enjoy the peaceful beautiful surroundings all while being very accessible to downtown. The home has a lovely cabin decor and is very comfortable. I would recommend this place to anyone coming up to the area and will certainly book when we return

From start to finish Zoe was very responsive and accommodating. The bathrooms and bedrooms were very clean and neat. The bedding was very comfortable. We cooked a dinner and a breakfast and the kitchen was stocked well enough to make both these meals easy.

This lovely lakeside cottage was the perfect backdrop for a family weekend away! Thank you to our host for being extremely accommodating and kind!!

This is a great lake house. It is well maintained — clearly updated, clean, with a well stocked kitchen. The yard is awesome, with fire pits, both gas and charcoal bbqs and plenty of space to run around. The private lake front was terrific, we fished a ton. I don’t love that a third party manages the reservations. Stay Bettr made check in and out easy, but there are so many fees. An extra $500 deposit fee, we will get it back but it’s a hassle. We were charged per guest even though it sleeps eight (bumping our reservation from 5 to 7 was an additional $100). And even a 30 minute early check in or late checkout incurred a fee (~$50), most major hotels don’t even charge that if your room is ready early. Overall it’s a great place, just be aware that there is little/no flexibility with your reservation and you will feel nickel and dimed by the management company.

This property was fantastic. The lake is beautiful, the kayaks and canoe offered by Vincent were in great condition and easy to use to explore the lake. And the house is well decorated, comfortable, and fits a large group easily. I would highly recommend a stay. Vincent is a great communicator and made the whole process easy — zero hassle whatsoever along the way.

I appreciated all the snacks and drinks that were included. Bathroom was stocked with everything you'd need and there was detergent for the washer too

We had a wonderful time celebrating Valentine's Day weekend at Instant Karma Catskills. The house had EVERYTHING we needed and is extremely cozy and comfortable. We spent time in nature and truly got the break and retreat we needed as a family. Highly recommend a visit to this beautiful and special spot! We enjoyed a pizza night from Forage Pizza (amazing), board games, the view/lake, and some hygge time. Thank you!

I’m grateful that Peggy and Harry were willing to rent to us at the last minute. Our family needed a quiet respite to be together during a difficult time of loss. The solitude of the lake and woods was calming and we had plenty of room to be together. I only wish we could have stayed longer!

My fiancé and I were looking to get away from the city for a few days and do some grilling/chilling & fishing with our fur baby. Our experience here was nothing short of phenomenal. The property is stunning with PLENTY of room to walk around and reconnect with nature. The hot tub was clean with no issues and the grill area is covered in a carved-wood structure which really helped with the outdoorsy-vibe and allowed us to hang outside while it was pouring one night. We also enjoyed having coffee or a beverage by the lake & also on the house’s balcony overlooking one of two ponds on the property featuring huge koi. You’ll have the chance to see some pretty cool wildlife and do some really great fishing if that “floats your boat” There was a canoe and kayaks for use. The inside & outside spaces were very comfortable and maintained very well. We found gas, groceries, and a liq/wine store just 5 minutes away. Shoutout to our host Drew who had THE FASTEST response times ever!!! TY!

EXCEPTIONAL! We can't say enough about how perfect our stay was. The Lake House is amazing. Great view, cozy, super clean. You can't ask for more. Will definitely come back and recommend highly.

Very large and nice open space in the house. Family of 6 felt very comfortable and we could have had more join. Quick drive to windham to ski and spent evenings in front of fire playing cards. Kitchen has everything you need for nights in.

Came to town with a full crew of friends and family from all over to help a cousin whose house flooded while she wasn’t in town. The perfect place to all gather, eat, relax and rest well after working hard all day. I can’t imagine how awesome it is in the summer. Great host.

Shariq was very flexible and accommodating with my group's needs. We were looking for a place to spend New Year together with friends. We needed a place where folks could co-work, and still socialize. The house was perfect, in that we could split into smaller groups to do our own thing, the toddler could take naps in a separate room without disruption, and the surroundings were beautiful. I would like to return when the weather is nice and I can actually take advantage of the beautiful lake right in the back yard!

We were in the area to meet our son's fiance's extended family. Nathania's home was perfect! We had 7 adults and 5 little boys ages 9, 7, 5, 2, and 2 months. There was plenty of space to spread out and enjoy the time together. The hot tub, kayaks, and foosball table were especially popular! We were able to host a family dinner with guests which was wonderful. Everything we needed for preparation was readily available. Lots of beautiful parks, playgrounds, hiking areas. Plenty to keep everyone entertained! Nathania was extremely kind, gracious, and responsive to questions. We had absolutely zero issues. So grateful for a wonderful vacation. Thank you for sharing your idyllic home with us. We hope to visit again!!!

Heather’s place is wonderful, we would like to stay there again in the future.

Spent a wonderful week during Christmas here with my adult son whom I hadn’t seen in years. Launa went above and beyond with making the home cozy and comfortable and the Christmas decor was more than I could have imagined. Launa allowed an early check in although I had an emergency which did not allow me to check in early but she offered me the option. Launa also allowed us a late check out which was very much appreciated. The only thing I wished was that the beds were a little less firm as I found them to be too firm but that’s just my preference. Very tranquil place and many memories were made. I would love to stay again perhaps during warmer months to enjoy the lake and outdoors but all in all it’s a beautiful home.

A wonderful stay — Moonstone is charming and full of soul, with a deck right up on the lake’s edge. Beautiful scenery and a quick drive to many places. Woods nearby to walk in and provided kayaks make this spot great for nature lovers. Mighty was communicative and responsive, the cottage was filled with handwritten notes giving us any info we needed. Lots of personal touches and plants made it cozy. Good amenities and a little bigger than I thought from the pictures!

This place is a true gem! I came with my husband and kids (5 and 2.5). The house itself is clean and has plenty of places to chill together or alone. As described, it's more "rustic and eclectic getaway" than "luxury renovation," but that worked great for our style. My kids slept soundly in the downstairs bedroom (thanks for the dark curtains!) and my husband and I were comfortable upstairs. I recommend turning on the oscillating fan during the night. The lake itself is amazing. We swam off the dock, paddleboat-ed around and took the kayaks to the public beach. The public beach even has a toy share if you want to travel light! I'd recommend bringing water shoes (tevas, crocs, whatever) if you want to swim anywhere but the private beach as you'll find some plants and a few rocks. We brought lifejackets for our kids and used Karen's for ourselves. Every night we made dinner in the full kitchen, played some board games and watched a movie on the Apple TV. So great!

An amazing house for a family stay in the Catskills area. Antonia has designed a beautiful home, with so many unique retro nods and details. The basement is an awesome additional space for everyone to hang out in. The backyard set up is also great- with easy access to the hot tub and a few steps to the lake. 15 min drive to great restaurants and things to do-Loved our stay here!
