Pastrami is a recent newcomer to the sandwich circles of Barcelona. Local pop-up restaurant Rooftop Smokehouse’s pastrami is delicious and artisanal, and since they opened the Pastrami Bar in El Born, it’s been one of my neighborhood favorites. Their antique wooden refrigerator is actually a hidden door to the Paradiso speakeasy cocktail lounge. The classic pastrami sandwich is always a safe bet, but don’t shy away from sampling other delicacies like smoked mackerel and roasted pork.

Very few bars can give you as many surprises as Paradiso. You never expect what at first glance looks like Rooftop Smokehouse's Pastrami Bar to have a secret bar behind it.
