A medieval town on lake Orta. The hidden gem of the Italian northern lakes. The town centre is mainly pedestrian: the historic town of Orta San Giulio is a peninsula and you can walk all the way around it in a loop. the island of San Giulio is quite small yet charming and very quiet. You can catch a boat from the main square, they are very frequent. Take a stroll, try the local restaurant, enjoy the view and art in the Basilica church.
