The Discovery Wharf is run by Maine Center for Coastal Fisheries, an organization that’s doing excellent research and work with a mission to secure a sustainable future for fisheries and fishing communities. Instead of keeping fishermen, scientists, and regulators all working in their own silos, MCCF works with fishermen through a collaborative approach to utilize the wealth of knowledge they hold. Their approach is one of both stewarding the ocean’s resources and protecting livelihoods that depend on them.
