Great hiking, cross country skiing and mountain biking. Our dogs enjoy this easy to get around trail. The Plainfield Elementary school also has a round flat ski track for beginners.

I would recommend checking out that area if you want to do if bit of exploring, hike or want quiet place to write. Amazing views if you go to the top (about a mile) from trailhead parking lot at Plainfield (k-8) School. There is also a trail head if you drive a couple miles down Colby Hill Road. There are several miles of trails and a map showing the area from the parking lot that I mentioned above. Miles and miles of groomed ski trails. If you follow "So Inclined" trail, you'll eventually find some interesting ruins (and an abandoned old car) in the forest of long-gone Meriden residents. I am a distance runner so frequently explore the area. It may be a little windy at the top.
