Tips from locals
This trail head with beautiful pools and waterfalls is almost two miles long and a fairly easy to moderate hike. It’s located on BLM property behind Zion. You’ll have to drive back through Hurricane to the town of Hildale to get to it, so it is 45 minutes - 1 hr away from the property. But it’s definitely worth the drive and a great place to see beautiful pools and water falls if you can’t get a permit for the Narrows. You can also camp right by the trailhead at some local campsites (which in my opinion are much more beautiful and less crowded than camps near Zion).

One of our favorite hikes for guests to explore! This local hike mimics the views of Zion National Park without the crowds: free parking, a family-friendly hike along a river, between two canyon walls, and up to a mini waterfall. Open year-round, the average hike time is 2 hours. We recommend hitting this hike in the morning (grab coffee at Espresso Creek on the way) or in the evening (start time around 5:30) to avoid the sun during the hike.
