About this place
Diner is a pioneer. Opened in 1999 by a young Andrew Tarlow as his first foray into Brooklyn (a borough with a dining scene of which he is now rightfully King), it's safe to consider it the birthplace of the effortlessly cool restaurant vibe. For starters, it's housed in a dining car and servers present the day's offerings (note Diner's website, which states: "our menu changes daily, dudes") by scribbling them on your butcher-paper tablecloth. The food is seasonally-inspired, comforting, and all-around solid. And the menu's mainstay is a burger and fries — which remains, to this day, amongst the city's very best.

Popular spot, so can be hard to get into. Good food though! We got the burger.

An outstanding restaurant inside a converted old train car. Great for dinner, brunch, or date night. Excellent natural wine selection as well.

Another Andrew Tarlow restaurant, next to Marlow & Sons and in an old-school diner. We love their burgers!
