It's an intimate (a la small Italian neighborhood style place), family owned, very seasonal and fresh menu, with an excellent staff, top notch wine list, and they can make a good cocktail as well. The food has always been outstanding, and when either of us want to celebrate or just have a nice meal we choose to go there over making the trek downtown or to any of the other neighborhoods. Reservations are recommended.

My favorite Italian place in Chicago. Great food, terrific servers, & nice atmosphere (a bit loud at times).I had an Alaskan halibut cooked in parchment paper--amazing. Try the asparagus & ricotta ravioli. Patio in back is great too.
delicious homemade rustic Italian dishes - this is not your red sauce and meatball Italian place. super tasty appetizer bites - order anything with farro! - and great homemade pastas. excellent cocktails to boot.
Chicago: Anteprima's pastas break free of the ordinary. Tagliatelle with duck ragù and with prosciutto ragù are both tiptop. Or you might get hooked on pasta packets stuffed with herb ricotta and chard in asparagus butter sauce, only to switch your allegiance on your next visit to tender ravioli spinach pasta filled with porcini and other mushrooms in mushroom cream with pine nuts.
