Tips from locals
There is a fantastic walk in the Springwood Conservation Park, half an hour walk or five minutes drive away. Including for those who want it a challenging set of stairs up a cliff face
Springwood Conservation Park shelters 36 hectares of open eucalypt forest and is home to a variety of wildlife. You might catch a glimpse of koalas, water dragons, swamp wallabies and many species of birds. The terrain makes for interesting exploring, with large boulders, balancing rocks, caves, cliffs and a gorge. You can see geological strata and fossils exposed in the old quarry. In late winter and spring you'll see wildflowers in bloom – golden candle sticks, yellow bush pea, purple hovea and golden wattle. During the wetter months, look for seasonal waterfalls cascading down the gullies. Eucalypts dominate Springwood Conservation Park.
