Under Offa's Dyke. Built around 1200. A mile down stream at Cloddock adjacent to the church are a series of very pretty pools.

While staying in the area it would be rude not to visit the ancient castle.. Located in the centre of the village, set in the beautiful Olchon Valley, Longtown Castle had its origins nearly 2000 years ago as a roman fort. Built in the 1180's by the Normal lord, Walter de Lacy, this fabulous motte-and-bailey fortification boats spectacular views of the Black Mountains. Enjoy a picnic in the castle grounds as the children play in the inner Bailey.

A powerful thick-walled round keep dating from the mid-12th century, characteristic of the Welsh borders, on a large earthen mound within a stone-walled bailey. Set in the beautiful Olchon valley, with magnificent views of the Black Mountains.
