Take a day trip south to Lander, WY and the Oregon Trail. Take #287 south, hwy 28 south loop to the Continental Divide, historic South Pass, Atlantic City, and loop back on highway 131 to Lander. Check weather before you go!

South Pass City is a fun and interesting place to visit, especially for history lovers. There are around 20 or so different buildings to visit, each one appearing as it would have in the 1800’s. There is a little creek where visitors can pan for gold, and a gift store. The entry price is very reasonable. Dogs are allowed and kids also really enjoy it.
