Completed in 1774, Pulteney Bridge brings a touch of Italy to Bath. Inspired by Ponte Vecchio in Florence and lined by shops on both sides, it is one of only four such structures in the world. Viewed from across the river, the bridge’s elegant arches are complemented by the curved cascades of the…

Divert northwards and follow the River Avon along its eastern bank. Keep walking and keep the faith. The views of the city are incredible. The walk ends with steps up to Pulteney Bridge, one of 3 bridges with shops in the world. Can you guess the others?

The is one of the most photographed monuments in Bath and is one of only three bridges in the world that has shops on both sides. There are quaint coffee shops and even a small stamp shop, definitely one to tick off the list!

Everyone's favourite - and for a reason! The area around the bridge is scenic and relaxing, and the sounds and lights are particularly romantic at night. You can eat at one of the bridge's cages or restaurants and shop in the numerous quirky stores.

Unique bridge with shops on both sides, with weir underneath it. Start of iconic Bath street - Great Pulteney Street- with former stately home, now Holbourne museum at one and Pulteney bridge at the other end.

Meal Takeaway
“As the name suggests, this is THE place in Bath to get authentic Italian Pizza. They have the pizza oven on full display so you can see it cooking whilst you wait. The service is brilliant and it's reasonably priced too.”

Pub
“Bar and restaurant. Distinctive eclectic decor and comfy, lounge-style seating. Outdoor seating can be accessed down the lane to the left hand side of the pub. A home-from-home atmosphere which reminds me of the function of a great pub: to be a 'public house' and gathering place for the community. Cheaper to buy a bottle of the very nice house wine than 4 individual glasses. Dogs are welcomed. Can be very quiet and peaceful for a good catch up and chat, but sometimes gets pretty busy later in the evening. There's usually somewhere free to sit, though.”
