The Shubenacadie Canal runs through a large municipal park that includes off leash dog trails, canoe rentals and a cool taco stand in the summer.

A very popular spot is located in Dartmouth. It was established by hard-working people whose desire was to connect two separate lakes. The visitors can walk toward both lakes and explore their history. Very recommended (especially in fall) to bring food for small birds and to feed them from the hands.
