Tips from locals
Devil’s Pulpit is a limestone rock jutting out from the cliffs from where (legend has it) the Devil preached to the monks below, tempting them to desert their order. It offers spectacular views over Tintern Abbey and the River Wye. 🗺️ 25.3 miles from Ynys Hut. 📌 Tidenham, Chepstow, NP16 7JR.
Another picturesque walk overlooking the Lower Wye Valley, The Devil’s Pulpit is accessible from Tintern and affords great views back over Tintern Abbey and the river. There are detailed directions in the guidebooks on our bookshelf.
A must-see for the area! Iconic views of Tintern Abbey from Offa's Dyke path. Fairly steep 40 minute walk from Tintern, or park in Tidenham for a flatter 15 minute wander.
