This 1225-acre preserve boasts a 1.5-mile shoreline with an observation platform at Lawrence Head, a bench facing east towards Quoddy Head, and Hamilton Cove Beach. The preserve also includes the Benny’s Mountain Trail, on the inland side of the Boot Cove Road, which leads past mature trees to a small summit with expansive views of the area.

Hamilton Cove Preserve is located right down the road from our Airbnb! It has quick access to two cobble beaches and also offers a trail to two great overlooks of coastal cliffs. If you walk the trail all the way to the end you'll come out onto this great rocky spot right on the edge of the water. Benny's Mountain is a trail across the street! Great walk through the forest and blackberry bushes in August. The overlook is small but gives you a slight view of the Lubec Downtown off in the distance.
