The Greenway was developed from Carlingford Marina to Omeath and is already proving very popular having over 50,000 visitors in 2016. This can be accessed from the centre of Newry City at the Albert Basin to Victoria Lock. The perfect location for a cycle or a walk. Victoria Lock is also a beautiful picturesque peaceful haven, located approximately 8 km along the Albert Basin from the City of Newry, and has significant historical value. Stop for a picnic or rest to absorb the scenic views before setting off again.

The Greenway is open for walkers allowing stunning views of Carlingford Lough and Slieve Foye, The Greenway takes the walker and cyclist along the shoreline and travels from Omeath to Carlingford. It uses the old railway line between Omeath and Carlingford, offering spectacular views of the Cooley Peninsula and Carlingford Lough. It certainly has proved quite popular for tourists and locals alike. Time to Walk 2 Hour Distance 6-7 Km
