Our neighbourhood swimmingpool. 10 minute walking distance. An outdoor swimming pool. With a slide, hot tubs and a 50 meter swimming pool. Icelanders are very fond of their swimming pools. It´s a wonderful way to spend time with the family and to renew in between trips.

Laugardalslaug is a public thermal bath and swimming pool complex located in the Laugardalur district. It is very popular by locals to visit over weekends. After the stay it is common that people visit the hot dog stand next to it or some of the ice cream stores in the area.

You can't go visit Iceland without taking a swim in one (or ten) of it's swimming pools. Laugardalslaug is our favourite.

“The local swimming pool. Within walking distance just over the hill by Hallgrímskirkja. We love to go there as often as possible. We have heated pools and hot tubs, saunas and steam baths. A bit pricey but worth it. If you're staying for a longer time or are planning to go a few times, I'd recommend buying a pass with ten entries, it's much cheaper and the pool is worth visiting often.”

“At Perlan , a 20 minute walk, there is a beautiful view of the city, and in clear weather you can see Snæfellsjökull in the distance. There is a café and a restaurant at Perlan and there are exhibitions about glaciers and an amasing icecave/tunnel. It is located on a hill with beautiful walk paths in a wooded area, called Öskjuhlíð.”
