Historic home (entry fee) and grounds with walking trails (free) through woods and along a creek. Lots of wild daffodils in the spring and beautiful colored leaves in the fall. Path crosses a road and brings you to a nice spot on the Rappahannock River.

A National Historic Landmark, Gari Melchers Home and Studio is one of just 30 of America’s most significant artists’ spaces included in the National Trust for Historic Preservation’s Historic Artists’ Homes and Studios consortium. The home dates to the 1790s.
