A local English Heritage site, these dramatic castle ruins tower over the quaint village of Castleton. Being one of England's earliest Norman fortresses, and later mentions in the Domesday Survey, step into a piece of British history whilst simultaneously taking in its panoramic views of the Peak District.

Spectacular views of Hope Valley and Cave Dale from the top. Very steep climb. The castle was founded sometime around 1066-1086. Mam Tor is but two kilometres away.
