Why locals recommend it
When you think of vital cinemas in the world, Anthology has to go on that list. It’s where I first discovered many of the experimental and essential films that have inspired me ever since. The building was once a municipal courthouse, and the upstairs auditorium has the feel of a magisterial courtroom. There are no advance ticket sales, so get there early.
