Sometimes you want an activity that puts you close to the airport. The grotto will give you a last opportunity to suck in the oxygen enriched tree gardens that is quintessentially Northwest. The upper garden charges a fee but the lower garden is free to enjoy. A great stop if clouds obscure Mt Hood and your vista shots are disappointing.

Even if you aren't religious, The Grotto is a beautifully tended garden, and a nice place to come contemplate. It is an internationally renowned Catholic shrine and botanical garden. Set on 62 acres and featuring a 100 foot cliff, the garden opens up to many different vistas as you wind your way through the paths. During the holidays, The Grotto is decorated with thousands of lights in their annual Festival of Light.

Beautiful peaceful place. It's a sanctuary garden and a great break from the hustle and bustle of things.
