Great hiking trail around the lagoon for an afternoon walk. Arched bridge to cross lagoon is at Lighthouse Street a few blocks from where you are staying.

The Ballona Lagoon is a marine preserve. There are 2.4 miles of trails to walk around, with information boards periodically placed for visitors.

Ballona Lagoon is a marine natural saltwater estuary preserve, a protected portion of Los Angeles Wetlands. There are public walkways making this a beautiful space to exercise and offers a different view of California .
