Tips from locals
This is a LOCO place to eat that keeps it very real, unpretentious, and a bit on the fringe of hospitality. True seaman grit might come to mind if you get to meet the owner Tommy Courtney who will sometimes double as wait staff or simply as a curious proprietor who will stroll by the table to check…
11 miles / 17 minutes This is an interesting place. The owner is a crusty old waterman short on social graces. His wife and daughter do the cooking. Order what ever he caught that day - rockfish or soft shell crabs - and have it fried! Not much on atmosphere or view, but it’s a must do!
"Courtney’s has the kick-off-your-shoes feel of a friend’s living room, which makes it easy to relax with a paper over one of Julie’s dishes, and to trade a to-do list for lingering and listening to the locals’ boisterous fish tales."
