This is a Must. It is about 1 mile long. Located along the north and south banks of the New River in downtown Fort Lauderdale, the Riverwalk runs from the Historic Stranahan House Museum to Broward Center For The Performing Arts. It has two main streets, Las Olas Boulevard and Himmarshee Street, that run through the district. On the middle of your route you have to stop at: 1) The Wharf: Music, Eats, Cocktails & Good times. 2) “Thrive” Is A 14-Ton Sculpture By Daniel Popper That Features Live Plants And An Archway You Can Walk Through. 3) Fort Lauderdale railroad drawbridge, This New River icon bridge was first installed in 1895, another bridge was installed in 1925 and the current one since 1978.

Spanning the north and south banks of Fort Lauderdale's New River is the Riverwalk Park, a waterfront park in the heart of Downtown.

One of the most memorable walks you can take in Fort Lauderdale is on the Fort Lauderdale Riverwalk. This recently completed linear promenade along the New River in downtown is considered by many “Florida’s Most Beautiful Mile,” linking boutiques, restaurants, shops and museums with lush, tropical scenery.
