Fascinating look into Baltimore's industrial past- kid-friendly too. Small but excellent farmer's market in the parking lot on Saturday mornings (in season). About a 30-minute (very pleasant, one of our fave dog walks) walk along the Inner Harbor, it's also accessible via bus or car.
The BMOI tells the story of Baltimore. Very interesting displays and never crowded.
If it's a nice day and you want to walk around the harbor to the Federal Hill side, The Baltimore Museum of Industry is an interesting stop. Baltimore was the hub of the industrial revolution in the early 1800's. This self guided venue captures much of the interesting history.
Located in an old cannery, the museum has exhibits on various types of manufacturing and industry from the early 20th century. Has amazing views of the water and is home to the Baltimore Sailing club. Often site for weddings, banquets and other occasions.
