Winter Carnival The Michigan Tech University Winter Carnival takes place on the campus and at various Houghton/Hancock locations in early February. Events include the famous snow statues, sporting events, the queen contest, a torch light parade, fireworks, the Sno-Ball and more.

One of my winter coping strategies is the Tech women’s basketball team. The Tech pep band itself is worth the price of admission. Have a Husky Meal -hot dog, popcorn and pop - and stay for the men’s game
