This is open during certain times of year and for a small entrance fee can explore what is left of the inside of the ruins. The dungeon is worth a visit with it’s medieval grafitti. You can still enjoy a stroll any time of year and enjoy the ruins. Get some fish and chips from Drakes in the market place and sit on a bench whilst you take in the famous viaduct view over the River Nidd. You can walk from the castle down to the waterside and vice versa. There is car parking at the castle which is great for exploring the whole town and also a museum

Knaresborough is full of history and the Castle sits overlooking the River. A stunning town, easy to find plenty to do there!
Lovely grounds in summer, steps at the left hand side lead down to Bebra Gardens with paddling pond for small children. To the right hand side just after the castle lots of steps down to the waterside. Great view of the viaduct and river Nidd from the castle grounds.
