Enjoy this quiet cottage on a secluded island. Walk seven miles of undeveloped beaches. Sometimes you will stay on the beach all day and not see anyone but the sea gulls. Watch the bald eagles hunt, pick up sand dollars or just relax. The island is accessible by passenger ferry ONLY to residents and registered guests. I must make ferry reservations a week in advance or the DNR will not let you on. The ferry ride is $5 per person cash only and the boat crew appreciates correct change.
“Sapelo Island is a special place. It is important to know that this is not a tourist destination - there are no stores, no bars or restaurants. It is a place deserving of immense respect. Learn the history of the island and it’s residents (the Gullah Geechee community). Learn about the ecosystem (how it is a virtually untouched by humans). It’s a one-of-a-kind experience but it’s also not for everyone. That being said, it definitely was for me and my husband. We spent our mornings and evenings on an almost private beach, we spent the hot afternoons lounging in the cottage reading and watching TV. I haven’t turned off from real-life like this in... I don’t know when. We were grateful to be guests on Sapelo Island and will definitely be returning.”
Our listing is easily accessible; located in a quiet community on a street lined with live oaks adorned with Spanish moss, which leads to the marsh. We are located just minutes from Brunswick Airport, Interstate 95, FLETC, historic downtown Brunswick, and 25 minutes from the beaches of St. Simons and Jekyll Islands. Just 15 minutes to our north is the quaint shrimping village of Darien where you may enjoy waterfront dining and strolling along the picturesque pier lined with shrimp boats.
“My fiancé and I have stayed in a lot of air B and B’s and this truly was one of our favorite experiences yet! Randy and Amy’s coastal getaway exceeded our expectations and their hospitality was incredible! The was the room clean and spacious and they had a beautiful backyard with a pool and hot tub that we used every day. They went above and beyond to give us local recommendations and we had the best time getting to know them and enjoying drinks with them on the back porch. The location was great! Only 20 minutes to the beach and we went to st. Simons island every day. Their sweet dog Layla was so friendly and patient with our energetic little pup and Randy and Amy made us feel right at home. We can’t wait to hopefully come back and stay again someday. If you are considering booking...go for it! You will not be disappointed with the 5 star hospitality at Randy and Amy’s :)”

“Dave’s Place is the place to be!Secluded away from the hustle and bustle. Quite enough to dive deep into a good book. Close enough to the beach. Amazing host who lets you come into his home with arms wide open, but also a host who lets you do your own thing. Amazing coffee made early in the morning. The kind of place that makes you feel like your at your favorite relatives house. Beautiful back screened in porch to enjoy a hot cup of coffee provided by Dave. Private second floor perfect to get away and read a great book. Definitely not a party spot, but a place that you can relax and soak up the smells and sounds of the south. We would definitely recommend and hope to be able to come back to stay again with our new friend Dave!”
