“An idyllic setting across from East Sidney Lake and just a few miles from the historic village of Franklin. I loved everything about this charming retreat. The decor was elegant and the accommodations were spotless and well-equipped for your every need. The host was very thoughtful in stocking the kitchen and bathroom with everything you would require to make your stay comfortable. And everything was done and arranged with an absolutely elegant, one could say even, European, touch. There were various settings for reflection inside as well as outside on the property including a woodland nook, a backyard barbecue and table with benches, as well as a lovely Adirondack chair (red!) on the front lawn to relax. Especially appealing to me was the frog chorus that warmed my heart as I sat and mused about life. It's a stone's throw from East Sidney Lake and is what makes this vacation spot a peaceful and charming respite, so bring your kayak. I was filled with a sense of calm in this Catskill retreat and I recommend it highly.”

“Lorraine and her son Ceasar were perfect hosts! The views are beautiful, and they graciously drove our things up the hill to the site when we arrived. We enjoyed staying in the little cabin in the woods. It was extra cozy having a nice watertight cabin when it rained! The fire pit, firewood, and grill were a great convenience, as was the 30-gallon water tank at the site. Our dog loved the spot, too, and especially liked snuffling around and relaxing under the picnic table. The whole experience was quiet, peaceful, and exactly what we hoped for from a weekend getaway.”

“We had a wonderful time at Eileen and Fred’s house. The property is expansive and beautiful with a huge grass area to relax or play on. We (family of 4 with 2 young children) enjoyed hiking the property and along the creek and had fun each night around the fire pit and catching fireflies. Eileen and Fred were excellent and responsive hosts. They even brought us fresh kale from their garden when they stopped by to bring extra gas for the grill in case we were running low. We wanted a rural setting away from it all during the covid pandemic and we definitely got what we wanted. I would recommend this house. It is near some beautiful scenery and we especially enjoyed swimming at Gilbert Lake State Park.”
