“Dale and Jennifer were the best hosts I’ve ever stayed with. We hoped to escape up north for respite during quarantine, and that’s what we got and more. The cabin is lovely- clean, cozy, well appointed, and comfortable, like a family cabin should be. And the grounds were supreme! We shared drinks and lively conversation by the fire with Dale and Jennifer, though they were happy to leave us be if we’d preferred a secluded stay. The lake and woods are beautiful for a walk, or to plop down and read a book. Can’t say enough about the great time we had here, I recommend it wholeheartedly, and if you do visit, make sure you get some stories out of D&J, it’ll be worth it!”

“After a pretty intense two year project at work, I needed a place to unwind. Andrea and Doug's place was perfect. My wife couldn't join me because of her work, so I spent 9 days in this classic (1900) log cabin by myself. The house has all the accommodations one needs for a great vacation (and even one I didn't want: WIFI!). My days consisted of reading, listening to some new podcasts and swimming. The house has several sitting areas which were perfect for all my lounging about. My favorite pieces of furniture included a chair hammock hanging in the family room from a huge log which was added to the house to support the upstairs bedrooms. The hammock outside and the the small pier on the river were also favorite accommodations along with a great screened-in porch. The most serene couple of days were spent on that screened-in porch enjoying the rain and its sounds. I am long-distance swimmer and the Eagle River area is dotted with beautiful, pristine lakes. It took me a few days to find them, but the Nicolet National Forest Lakes were ideal. So, around 2-4pm everyday, I enjoyed my mile to mile and half swim. Very few boats, clear waters, perfect conditions. In general, the cabin is perfect. I didn't use the kayaks that are available but I think think they would make for a nice Wisconsin River adventure. The house is wonderfully tended to. In fact, when Andrea and Doug visited for a brief intro visit on my second day, Andrea coudln't help herself in finding a little dust on a counter to attend to. I thought that said volumes about the cleanliness of the place. The only point I think future guests should be aware of is that the beds all reside in rooms that are open and side-by-side on the upper level. The fully-outfitted bathroom sits downstairs between the kitchen and the family room. So, any bedtime bathroom visits will take you down the stairs. The queen bed I slept in was very, very comfortable and afforded a few huge undisturbed 10-hour sleeps. Nice! The kitchen had everything you should need and a washer and drier are next to it which I thought convenient but I didn't need to use. I highly recommend this cabin to all Airbnb guests. Enjoy! Thank you Andrea and Doug!”

“This was our second stay at Ronald's peaceful slice of heaven, and just like last time, it was clean, comfortable and QUIET! If you want to relax and enjoy turkeys running across the yard, the sound of a male grouse drumming on his favorite log, or just the crackle of a warm evening fire, this is where you want to be! Ronald goes out of his way to make his guests comfortable! Thanks again for letting us come up and recharge, we needed it!”
