Still Bend/Bernard Schwartz House, is Frank Lloyd Wright's built version of his Life Magazine "Dream House" design from 1938. The house is located on the East Twin River about a mile from Lake Michigan. Frank Lloyd Wright wrote in Life Magazine about the plan, “American...family life is unlike any other in the world and I think this plan recognizes it for pretty much what it is — a little private club — with special privacies, ultra conveniences and style allthe while."
“We felt so grateful to spend a weekend in a Frank Lloyd Wright house! The house is so beautiful! And we were surprised by the backyard too! We enjoyed playing badminton and crickets in family and at night you can have s’mores around the fire pit. It is very well-located with groceries at 5 min and the beautiful Point Beach State Forest at 15 min. It was such an amazing experience! Thank you Michael.”
Unplug. Unwind. Connect with nature. Come enjoy our 700 sq.ft. cabin on 6 wooded acres. Fish the trout stream, hike, bike, swim! See hummingbirds hover at the feeders, watch for deer or bald eagles. The outdoor recreational opportunities are endless. Listen to the wind whisper while you sway in the hammock. Escape to the peaceful pines and let the whippoorwills sing you to sleep at day's end.
“Like others have said, I hate to give this place such great reviews, because I don't want it to become too popular! But, Emily is awesome, so, I'd want her to have your business. What a special place this little cabin in the woods is! What I didn't expect was the gorgeous stream running through what is basically her back yard. The cabin itself is perfect. All the amenities you'd want, nothing you don't. The woodburning stove was our favorite. They even have a couple of couch cushions and blankets (next to the furnace on the stairs to the beautiful loft!) for you so you can comfortably sit on the floor directly in front of the fire. Or just sit on the dual-recliner loveseat, where we enjoyed hours of reading. The only warning I'd offer about this place is: Be prepared to never want to leave. PS The Necedah Wildlife Refuge is worth the 38 min drive. PSS For the more adventurous/risk-taking hikers and rock climbers, Googlemap: "Parking Lot for Big Hill Hiking Trail."”
COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS Nothing is more important to the us than the health and safety of our communities. We are monitoring the situation very closely, and we would like to share the additional precautions that have been recently added. All amenities at this property have been closed. We have increased our cleaning standards, specifically as it relates to cleaning and disinfecting surfaces. This is all very necessary for the safety of guests, and we must do our part to keep this community safe.
“Beautiful spot, very clean, awesome view, but terrible management. I’m a travel nurse, so I took a job in the city while picking up my sister from college. So, as you imagine, I’m exhausted on the regular. I called the host to clear up some of my confusion with how to get into the building. The instructions said to call the front desk, and they will let you in. I tried about four times to call the front desk, without receiving an answer. So I gave the host a call and (very politely) told him my issues. His attitude was ridiculous. He made it seem like I was inconveniencing him by calling and asking for help. Just unprofessional immaturity.”
