“What an amazing little spot!! Complete peace and quiet, just the sheep baaa’ing and the owls twit twooing at night!! Weather changes quite quickly, foggy-clear-raining so just the luck of what you get! Plenty to go exploring- lovely walks and scenery! Nice local pub not to far with great homecooked food. Karen was great and kept our drinking water topped up and the facilities clean :) Compost loo and outdoor shower quite the experience! Log burner definatly kept the hut warm, most of the time to warm to which we needed the cool breeze from outside to come through. If you want get back to basics this is the one!!”
Gorgeous detached period stone cottage, set amongst beautiful countryside on the edge of the Quantock Hills AONB and Exmoor, with private cobbled terrace garden, just 10 mins to the coast and all within walking distance to a great pub!
“Tom and Fiona’s cottage is the perfect escape! The cottage is super cosy, warm and comfortable and has everything you’d need for any length of stay! There are lovely little touches everywhere, it’s beautifully decorated, private and even has a lovely outside area. To our surprise, when we arrived, we were greeted with a delicious cream tea and ended up playing board games and drinking copious amounts of tea in this little nest, forgetting the outside world! The cottage is a great base for seeing Exmoor National Park and surrounding villages - with the long list of recommendations given, there’s an endless amount of things to do and see in the local area. (We loved Dunster castle!) Fiona and Tom were fab hosts, Tom even suggested a walk for us and provided us with a map and directions. The walk was spectacular, we just really wished we had booked a few extra nights to explore some more!”
A uniquely appointed wood cabin sited under mature oak trees in our lovely garden. The Shack has one lovely room with kitchen area inc microwave, fridge and toaster, no cooker but a single electric ring. Items for breakfast will be left for your first night and you are welcome to request more. These include homemade bread and jam, milk, tea and coffee and cereal. Well insulated so warm in winter and cool in summer. 3 miles to the coast. A short drive to Exmoor or the Quantock hills. Meet our chickens and dogs, chill on the veranda listening to birds and the river, or stroll to the very local pub.
“We absolutely loved our stay. The shack is nicely deocrated with lovely little (and eco - friendly) touches. We felt so at home! Jill & John were excellent hosts and provided great recommentations. The area was stunning. Perfect for walking in the countryside and long strolls along the beach. Wouldn't change a thing! THE perfect weekend getaway. Thank you Jill & John! Ciaran & Mele”
