“It's hard to describe how wonderful our stay was at Great Timbers! First, Great Timbers is simply gorgeous on the inside and out. Upon entering, you immediately notice how spotless and clean every surface is, and it's apparent the amount of care that Cheryl dedicates to make her guests feel welcome. The scale of the logs and choice of materials used in building's construction are so impressive. The slate floors are heated, which is a nice touch on those chilly mornings. The kitchen is fully appointed with modern, upgraded appliances...and did I mention everything is spotless? The windows looking out the back yard toward the water convey the adventures that await those who travel to this magical part of Maine. The location is perfect for visiting the Schoodic Peninsula to the south, or heading over to Acadia National Park to drive the scenic loop road or spend the day exploring around Bar Harbor. The drive to the top of Cadillac Mtn. should not be missed! We spent 5 of our 8 nights around the backyard fire pit and were rewarded each night with some of the most spectacular sunsets we've ever seen. The views of the waters of Frenchman Bay and the forested islands are incredible...whether you're inside looking out the windows, enjoying the comfort of the sheltered back deck, or sitting around the fire. The sounds of the tidal currents swirling around the rocks and tidal pools at night is enchanting. There is a short trail down to the water that is easy to navigate. You can sit on the rocks at high tide and watch the lobster boats returning to port or go down at low tide to explore the pools and collect wave-smoothed rocks. All in all, it was the best vacation my wife and I have had in a long, long time. A big tip of the hat to Cheryl for making our stay so comfortable....we'll definitely be back!!”

“If you are looking for somewhere to relax and get away from it all, this is the place to be. Hope and Bob have a beautiful, cozy little love shack by the water. The little things that they leave for you, such as... a bottle of wine, popcorn, biscuits and homemade jam, and orange juice add the extra touch. You can tell that they put a lot of effort into making you feel welcome, but also give you your privacy. Winter Harbor is a cute little village with friendly people and lots of good places to eat. Would stay there again if we get back again.”

“A fantastic view and amazing hospitality! Not only is the home lovely, warm, welcoming and very relaxing, but also Jennifer's personal touches were great. We felt very well cared for when after an unexpected storm, Jennifer and Bill reached out directly to see if everything was ok, to make sure we had power (because hundreds locally didn't), and answer any concerns. Good news - all was ok! We still had power and enjoyed being warm inside the home while the wind and rain blew outside. We felt very well taken care of. Our other days at their home were sunny and we enjoyed the truly stunning sunrise, watching the tides ebb & flow, and waking down on the rocks at low tide. We wished we could stay an extra day! We would absolutely stay at Jennifer's place again and highly recommend it to you!”
