“I booked this accommodation for a relative who lives in the Western Cape and needed a short break. Having spent time in Witsand last autumn we knew it would be perfect. Witsand is a gem, beautiful, peaceful, remote and yet accessible. The person who stayed at this place said that it was clean, cosy and that he was met with a warm welcome. Communication with the host was prompt and clear. To be recommended.”
This two-bedroom, double storey, thatched-roof, fisherman-cottage styled apartment is situated 100m from a beautiful estuary. This is where the freshwater currents of the Breede River meet the saltwater tides of the Indian Ocean. Located halfway between Cape Town and Knysna, it forms part of the famous Breede River Lodge with its sparkling swimming pool, restaurant, pub and private mooring. But the unit is entirely self contained and separate, offering maximum comfort and privacy.
“The best sunset we had in our whole trip, and a really friendly atmosphere in the village local ('The Anchorage' - recommended for a pint on the veranda, maybe see whale or dolphin) for the rugby final. The flat is comfortable and has the all basics including secure parking. Whilst nestling in the middle of a complex of three terraced rows, it is quiet, the view is fair, the balcony great for breakfast or reading, and it looks like there's a communal swimming pool. Therese's directions were useful and friendly, and the reception staff knowledgeable. The river estuary and coastal shoreline are beautiful.”
