“Absolutely lovely place to stay! It is rustic and comfortable at the same time, with lots of little touches that make it special. A few highlights: * The host messaged us the week of to welcome us, letting us know the place had been empty since mid-March (to ease any COVID concerns), which was thoughtful. * The check-in was easy and could be done without meeting in person. * The host left coffee and fresh eggs in the fridge. The kitchen is also recently renovated and absolutely wonderful! It was stocked with the basics (oil, salt, pepper, coffee filters, tea, flour, sugar) and all the pots / pans / plates were spotless. * There was a printed guide for a range of local activities & restaurant recommendations. * Plenty of board games & even a coloring corner with pencils and adult coloring print-outs. * The on-premises farm is a fun added perk - we got to feed the rescue goats and chickens and play fetch with the dogs. But it's in a different part of the property, so you don't have to interact with it if you don't want to. * Even though the Aframe is technically connected to the main house, it feels very independent / isolated. We didn't see or hear anyone else until we walked over to the farm. It's well thought-out and well managed. Highly recommend!”
This charming, private guest house used to be the Rolling River Café, converted into a cozy space with a pellet stove, a queen bed upstairs and a futon downstairs. Perfect for 1 to 4 guests, such as 2 couples, 3 friends, or a family of 3 or 4. It is private - no sharing with any other guests. It has an open floor plan on both floors.
“We stayed at Kim's with the intention to run away from NYC for a breath of fresh air. We found the place to be really charming, making us wish we had been there during the times the cafe was open! It was just the respite we were looking for. Close to great hikes, plenty to do even when NY State is still in lockdown. Highly recommended!”
The cabin is a 2 room newly renovated house on our 20 acre property. Also on the property are 2 more houses. We have a small farm here. We keep pigs, rabbits, ducks, chickens, bees and our 2 very affectionate outside cats. The cabin overlooks the family garden. We love to garden and fill the yard with many plants. We have a small stream on property and about 14 of the acres are woods. We often walk the woods to Mountain Dale which is about 1 mile away.
“I had a wonderful stay here! I needed a mini getaway from city life; I was looking for some solitude and nature and I got exactly that, in addition to staying in this quaint cabin which the pictures don’t do justice. Everything I needed in the kitchen or bathroom was easy to find bc of how intuitively it is set up. And the front porch/lawn area was perfect to sit out and read on. Mike and Judy checked in on me to see if I needed anything and gave me a wonderful suggestion to check out Neversink Gorge, which I’ll pass on to everybody else too! A highly recommended stay if you need some greenery and serenity.”
