This is one of the few remaining Shoin-zukuri-style, purely Japanese buildings in Hiroshima City, built 75 years ago, shortly after the war.One step from the main street, in a quiet environment, there is a small Japanese-style garden where you can relax. There are items that are only kept at the Mai House, such as a pot that partially melted due to the heat from the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima on August 6, 1945, and photographs from around 100 years ago. The fixtures and glassware date back more than 70 years, and the two gardens, the hearth, and the study, in particular, capture the atmosphere of a traditional Japanese home. Currently, these items can only be obtained by placing an order with a select group of artisans. Of the 5 rooms, 3 are tatami rooms, so please lay a futon on the tatami when you go to bed. Located in Minami-ku, Hiroshima City, it can be reached by a single tram ride within the city. From the nearest station/tram stop ①, it takes about 20 minutes to reach Hiroshima Station. From the nearest station (tram stop ②), you can reach the Peace Memorial Park and the Atomic Bomb Dome, as well as the city centre, in about 20–30 minutes. The taxi ride takes about 10 minutes. There are all the essentials in the neighbourhood: the large shopping mall Youme Town Hiroshima, convenience stores (7-Eleven, FamilyMart), and restaurants (okonomiyaki, ramen, sushi, yakiniku, waffles, bakery, etc.) are all within walking distance.

This is the only accommodation near Shin-Onomichi Station. The accommodation is a traditional Japanese house, and you will stay in the main house. The accommodation is limited to one group per day, and can accommodate up to 4 guests. Only one dog can stay with you (however, in the tatami room, the dog must be kept in a cage). It is close to the Shinkansen, so there is noise and vibration every time a train passes. It may not be suitable for those who are sensitive to noise. (There is no service between 11:40 PM and 6:20 AM, so it is quiet.) If two people are staying, separate bedrooms are available. Alternatively, two single beds can be joined together to make a double bed. Please let us know your requirements. There is free parking below the guest house, but please be aware that it is difficult to access from the public road. Also, please park your car within the white lines. Please note that smoking is not allowed.
