great stay! 25 minutes from the airport, 1hour from middle of the world city. clean, hot water, comfy bed. beautiful site with great views of the city and stars. a few friendly dogs on the site too. easy to access via Uber, and town is closeby for essentials.

El lugar y el proyecto de Stephen es increíble! La zona, el proyecto de reforestación y sostenibilidad que tienen es realmente interesante. Si quieres relajarte y vivir una experiencia diferente y no muy alejada de la ciudad este lugar es perfecto para ti. El desayuno muy bueno con productos frescos y orgánicos. La habitación es como un glampling pero muy cómodo. Eso si, no tienes luz eléctrica y el baño es privado pero fuera de la carpa, pero es perfecto para secansar y desconectarte de la naturaleza.

How to summarize a review for a place that has the potential to change your life has been a task. To stay with Cheryl and Jon at the Finca Aveterra is to be unplugged yet connected, cared for with generous hospitality, educated and informed of new ways of living; and for us specifically, reminded of who our Creator God is and the life He intended for us to live. It has been difficult to leave and felt like a departure from friends, family and home when we did. Cheryl was beyond gracious, helpful and thorough coordinating our arrival and departure, performing chef duties (unbelievable), connecting us to in-country travel means, greeting us in the middle of the night; Jon was passionately energetic sharing about syntropic agroforestry, touring us through the farm, the valley (!!), and both touring us through the lodge, sharing the fruit of their labor (literally), engaging conversation and generosity. this house was spectacular! It exceeds to photographs, it is spacious and beautiful. The views were also outstanding. The only downside to the location is that it's on a hill on a busy city bus route, so there is a lot of noise from the air brakes. But the gem of the house is Carmen, the caretaker. She will take care of anything you need with a smile. She doesn't really speak English, but with our learning level Spanish and translation apps, it worked. She and Maria made a fantastic breakfast for us on Easter morning. I highly recommend treating yourself!

What a stunning and one of a kind getaway! The Bird Tower is truly unique and an incredible experience. The views from every level of the tower give a glimpse into different parts of the canopy. Waking up at dawn to hear the birds and see the sunrise at the top level was an unforgettable experience. The night walk was a cool bonus and it was so nice to be on site and just head to bed afterwards. Eric was very kind and helpful. He arranged a taxi for us to and from Quito with a wonderful driver. This is a must stay if you are visiting Ecuador!

This sanctuary was a highlight for trip to Ecuador. The cabin was beautiful, cozy and had the most beautiful views and surroundings. The king sized bed was awesome, not a lot of them in Ecuador from the Airbnbs I searched. Ivan provided the staple breakfast items and we ate like kings/queens after walking around Mindo all day. The property is well kept and truly spectacular. We spent our morning bathing in the river nearby while the doggie kept us company and played lifeguard. We’d go back in heartbeat and we plan to sometime in the near future.
