Monthly Rentals in Alfred and Plantagenet

An immaculate cottage just over 30 minutes outside Ottawa. The views of the River were a beautiful backdrop to our cozy weekend retreat this April. Whether we were sitting on the patios taking in the River, inside the enclosed deck playing cards, or sleeping in the comfy beds, we were well satisfied. Our hosts were also incredibly responsive to all our questions. We hope to return in the future!

We spent the Easter long weekend at the Perched Cabin on Mariposa Farm, and it was absolutely wonderful. The cabin is beautifully built with care and character—off-grid, peaceful, and surrounded by nature, yet cozy and fully equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The large windows made from recycled patio doors bring in the forest light and create a magical atmosphere. We loved walking the many trails around the farm, meeting farm animals, and learning about the story behind both the cabin and Mariposa itself. It’s inspiring to see how much heart went into creating this place. We’re already planning to return in the fall. Highly recommend this stay to anyone looking to disconnect and reconnect with nature in a unique and soulful setting.

This little chalet was very cozy, had everything we needed. We traveled up through the ice storm during our first night, and it was a long stressful time, it was nice to be welcomed with the fireplace lit and warm. the host offered us extra time on Sunday to spend if we wanted , which was greatly appreciated. would highly recommend. very lovely, gorgeous views, perfect size! thank you again! 💜
