Casa Cervantes is an airy loft space at the top of our restored townhouse in Alhama de Granada. Designated and licensed as a 'Vivienda Turistica de Alojamiento' by the Andalucian Tourist board it has stunning views from a sunny private terrace. We are right in heart of the ancient and historic Arabic Quarter, minutes walk from lively tapas bars, pavement cafes and shops. The town is famous for its hot springs and beautiful gorge as well as its authentic Spanish culture, music and arts events.
“We stayed at Alizon's place for 2.5 weeks and had a great time, as the locality in the old town suited us perfectly. Being with the locals was nice, we started to get to know quite a few people there. A nice gesture was the welcome bottle of wine. Alizon also provided a detailed route description on how to get to the place, which was spot on. Being there for an extended period we received fresh linen and towels midway during us staying there. There is a beautiful view from the balcony towards the hills Kitchen area is good with a full set of plates and utensils. Wifi is fast and reliable; we didn't have any issues during our stay at all. Parking is right in front of the building, which was nice, but if not available then there is more parking about 30 meters further up. Something we found out after having walked quite a bit uphill to get our groceries, is that that there is a very basic grocery shop just 20 meters around the corner from where we are and with very nice people, who like to have a chat. It is about 10 minutes walk to the centre of Alhama, past several churches and a museum about the past of Alhama (prison museum). Suggestion for anybody staying in Alhama de Granada is to go to the Information Centre and to do a walking tour. It is on 3 x per week at midday and it is awesome, going into places, which are normally locked up and were now opened specially for us with a very good explanation about Alhama and it's past.”
La Siesta is a comfortable, traditional style Spanish house with some modern touches. It has nice high ceilings, comfortable beds, and everything you might need to make your stay easy and like being at home. The terrace is just off the kitchen and has views over the town, and is a great place to relax with a book and glass of wine. The house is very close to the centre of town, only 100m, where you will find excellent bars and restaurants. Parking is right outside the house and is unrestricted.
“Great host, beautiful sunsets, comfortable beds, clean house which is close to bars, restaurants, history and walks. House isn't for elderly and people unsteady on their feet, stairs a little deep. Other than this everything is fantastic.”

“Gary was an incredible host from start to finish. He met me from the bus, offered me a coffee in the local bar (as I had travelled far to get to his place) and then took my luggage off me to walk to his place. The place was spotless and beautifully decorated with some lovely home touches. I had some coffee and a bottle of wine gifted which was another nice touch. Throughout my stay Gary was there if I needed him but left me alone when I did not. I felt at any time if I needed anything I could have asked. His place is so peaceful and I managed to get a lot of creative writing done the same and it is so inspiring to live in the old part of town. I really loved my stay and Gary aided that with his brilliance. Thanks Gary!”
