This guest cottage was once an art studio. It is very comfortable, cozy, quiet, and private. It is located on a 40 acre ranch with wonderful views, horses and abundant wildlife. I live on this ranch along with long term renters residing in separate houses. The guest cottage is near the other houses but we are all very quiet and respectful of privacy. I am building trails on the property and I encourage my guests to get outside a take a stroll. This property is a perpetual work in progress.
“Mattie's place was just perfect. We loved the space and property. I especially appreciated how Mattie was taking extra precautions with the coronavirus. It was comforting knowing that we were in a clean space with a 2 year old in tow and one on the way! The horses were extra special to visit and even Greta the cat came to greet us. You really feel like you're away from everything even though the town is right down the street. We are definitely planning on returning when back in the area and will also be sure to stop by her Ritchey Wine Saloon when social distancing isn't a concern! Mattie is a wonderful host and a pleasure to chat with. Thank you again, Mattie!”
This is a spacious studio for the travelers looking for a comfy and cozy place to wind down and recharge for the next day. Come stay here and enjoy our special star gazing deck and wild life. At Cool Cactus Cottage you will have the whole place to yourself located at the edge of town but still in vicinity of all the local amenities.
“It's a bit small, but don't let that deter you from this stargazing gem. Lots of flat ground around to set up a telescope. The stargazing deck is great for looking at the night sky (and maybe drinking a few beers). If you're looking for a place to stay for a couple days to explore West Texas and enjoy some dark skies that you don't get in cities, this is the place. Only 40 minutes from McDonald Observatory, and only 10 minutes to get even darker skies. It's got a comfy bed too for crashing after late night observations.”
Located in the heart of downtown Alpine, Texas, this separate, diminutive cottage (1 room and bath) was a teeny office (168sf) back in the day! The bed is only a 3/4 bed( wider than a twin, but lass wide than a double)! This space is tiny and, yes, was photographed with wide angle lens to get the whole room in! It situated downtown, behind the locally owned salon and barber shop, Americana. Enjoy the Backyard, adjacent to the Dragonfly Cottage!
“Really beautiful space. It looks so tiny from the outside, but they really made the most out of the space and added so many helpful amenities. It was beautiful, comfy, and super clean. They don't seem like the usual Airbnb hosts but hospitality professionals.”
