“My husband and I stayed with Mary and Wes twice in one week on opposite ends of a road trip. We also had a small dog with us. Mary and Wes were awesome to communicate with and gave great suggestions to local restaurants (shout out to Central BBQ and that peanut butter pie!). Another reviewer said the neighborhood was a little sketchy at first - my husband and I felt the same way but all of the people around us were so friendly we quickly felt at home. The beds are comfy and the space is very stylish and clean, and our small dog enjoyed sniffing around the fenced in back yard after a long day of travel. My husband's favorite part of our stay was the record player in the dining room - that was a really fun touch! We would definitely stay with Mary and Wes again.”
Quiet and cozy arts and crafts bungalow in a very safe, historic neighborhood walking distance to theaters and restaurants in Overton Square and Starbucks is a block away. Easy Uber/Lyft to Beale Street, Sun Studio, Stax Museum, Redbirds Stadium, Cooper/Young arts/entertainment area and downtown. There is a shy, somewhat antisocial, but very sweet greyhound who lives in the house with me and my partner, John. We welcome all humans here.
“A fabulous time at Elizabeth’s! Her home is conveniently located for the tourist in Memphis — minutes in the car to Memphis sights like Beale St. and Graceland. The room is part of a beautiful old house; plenty of space, high ceilings, and comfy pillows on the bed! Wonderful hospitality and speedy communication. Loved being able to make myself a cup of coffee as I worked a remote morning for my job. Ginny the greyhound is a darling. Couldn’t recommend this beautiful spot more strongly. Thanks for letting me join for Terminator 2! In the immortal words of Arnold, “I’ll be back!””
Built in 1922, the house is in the Evergreen Historic District in Midtown Memphis. It has a private living room with a gas fireplace, bedroom, en-suite bathroom with shower and bathtub large enough for a soak, wraparound porch, 10' ceilings, original woodwork and oak floors, 4 French doors, glass-front bookcase, large set of windows, and the world’s most comfortable king-size bed (really). A comfortable trundle bed is also available for the living room, and there's an ashtray out on the porch.
“Very cozy. You’re tucked into your own private apartment. The double recliner is very comfortable. Teri has 100s of recommendations of where to go and what to see. It’s a short UBER ride into downtown Memphis. We drove into town to eat, but next time we’ll UBER, just to not deal with finding parking. We ate at Gus’s chicken, we were told it’s the best chicken around, now we know why. We would definitely stay at Teri’s place again.”
